Copyrights

Copyright can be defined as - "the exclusive legal right to reproduce, publish, sell, or distribute the matter and form of something (as a literary, musical, or artistic work)." Many people publish many things in today's day and age.  These publishing can take place anywhere from the Internet to even artwork in an art gallery or a form of music.  As many of these publishings can be seen publicly more often than not then there must be a form of protection for the author or creator of the work.  This is where copyright comes in.  Once an article is copyrighted it gives the author/creator exclusive rights to any form or reproduction or legal rights against illegal reproduction of their work.  Copyright infringements are happening more of than any would expect in any format of work as piracy of movies or music is happen now more than it ever has.  Many of these works or built from intellectual property or "property (as an idea, invention, or process) that derives from the work of the mind or intellect; also  :  an application, right, or registration relating to this."

Networked Society

According to the internet a Networked Society is a society is, "one in which connectivity brings people closer together than ever before, where collaboration is part of everyday life, and where every person and every industry is empowered to reach their full potential." Going from this definition and research from other sources if we'er not already living in a Networked Society then we will be very soon. As technology continues to grow it things change or adapt to it and society is no different. People will always strive to reach maximum potential in many cases and a connected society is something that everyone could benefit from therefore even if we already live in a Networked Society it is what some might call "the way of the future."

The Dark Web (Insert Star Wars Music?)

What most people use everyday when online is known as the clear web, however there is another version of the world wide web that exists of which not many people know about known as the dark web.  Anything done on the clear web is traceable as your IP address leaves a trail, but on the dark web your movements are masked.  This allows people to surf about anonymously on the web as well perform other activities while their identity remains hidden.  Most web browsers link directly online, however certain programs allow a computer to connect to the web through many other encrypted computers making your IP address untraceable. Whether you want to protect your identity while online or hide from authorities it seems the best way to do so is through the dark web. Because of this it can be said that the world wide web is full of promises and paradoxes.

Data, Data, and More Data

Data- facts or information used usually to calculate, analyze, or plan something; information that is produced or stored by a computer.  Data is something that the world as we know it relies on. In nearly every situation data is exchanged by either person or by machine.  News is made up from data inputs and even decisions of the government come from data inputs.  Data practically runs everything in todays world as data is either transferred throughout a machine or by person to perform tasks.  Data is released by many sources such as the government or even ourselves.  Some of this data is to inform family members and friends of the daily happening data released by others could turn into a major headline or a news article non the least.  Seeing as how this data is being released there are some who fear that too much data is being released and there are some who think the government is keeping secrets by not releasing enough data and of course either may be true.  Obtaining data has never been easier though.  Most can turn to the internet and find a data on any topic they wish within a few minutes or even others who seek more specific data can easily set up surveys based on whichever topic they may choose.  The supply of data in todays world is almost endless and is being exchanged faster than it ever has been, which is something that will never slow back down.  Data is nearly a lifeline for the world itself as we would know nothing without it.
